The Importance of Choosing the Right Pediatric Dentist

A child’s body goes through many changes from birth until they turn 18 years old. Every part of the jaw moves and changes shape as a kid develops into an adult, impacting dental health. Working with the right pediatric dentist ensures that your child receives the best care possible throughout childhood and adolescence.

As a family dentist, Dr. Lanik works closely with pediatric dentistry specialists in the area and may refer them if your child’s care is beyond the scope of Peak Dental Arts. The following are common reasons for your child to visit a pediatric dentist:

  • Your child has special medical needs that are affecting or may affect their oral health.
  • Your child has cavities forming under the gums in adult teeth.
  • Your child’s baby teeth aren’t coming in.
  • Your child’s baby teeth are not erupting when they should.
  • You want to learn about how to get rid of bad oral habits.
  • Receive preventative treatments.
  • Receive reports about your child’s teeth and jaw growth and development.
