Frequently Asked Questions

We here at Peak Dental Arts are always committed to making sure you don’t have any questions before starting any procedure. This FAQ page is to answer all your most asked questions. Of course, if there are any questions you have that are not here, feel free to call our office!

Our main dentist, Dr. Lanik attended dental school at the Ohio State University and graduated in 1983. He is part of the Akron Dental Society and the Ohio State Dental Association. He was also a council member on the ADS and an alternate delegate with the Ohio Dental Association.

He regularly does hours as part of continuing education each year. He mostly concentrates on cosmetic and implant dentistry. He also has a membership at the Seattle Study Club which is an organization with some of the nation’s premier lecturing dentists.

Preventative Dentistry is aimed at helping you have the healthiest teeth and gums possible. We offer dental exams and checkups which allow us to find problems early and address them. We also provide professional dental cleaning.

Dental sealants are also a part of preventative dentistry as they allow us to fill teeth before they turn into cavities. We also offer special preventative dentistry for children. Your kids’ oral hygiene is just as important to us as yours and we want to make sure your kids have healthy habits when it comes to brushing and flossing.

Periodontal maintenance is also part of preventative dentistry. During your checkups and cleaning, we can spot signs of periodontal disease and stop it from progressing with special cleaning techniques. You will also need to visit the dentist more often if you have the periodontal disease since it requires more regular cleanings.

Yes, we have many different options when it comes to restorative dentistry. If you have cavities and need fillings, we offer fillings. You can have this done on the same day you are having a cleaning or you can book another appointment.

We also offer many other options to make sure your teeth are restored to the way they should be. Sometimes as we age, our teeth will wear down and become more susceptible to damage and wear and tear. That’s why we offer dental crowns, dental bridges, and dental implants.

We can also get you fitted for dentures whether they be full or partial.

Maybe you have an issue with your mouth that you want to fix for appearance reasons. We have a number of different cosmetic procedures we can do to make sure you are confident and healthy. We offer Invisalign for those who want to fix teeth that are not straight.

We also offer teeth whitening such as bleaching to whiten your teeth from the inside. Our whitening system does not damage enamel like some of the over-the-counter whitening products. Dr. Lanik can also do dental veneers and dental bonding if you have discolored teeth or teeth that are cracked and chipped.

Lastly, we offer CEREC one-day crowns. This procedure allows you to get a crown in one day rather than having to come to the office for other appointments on other days. Since you get the crown on the same day, you also don’t have to worry about getting temporary crowns that can fall off or become damaged.

Yes, we accept certain insurances. We also try to make sure you get the maximum insurance reimbursement you can. You can always come into our office or call us to ask about insurance payments and to see if you accept the one you have.

Yes, we prefer you to always make an appointment unless you have an emergency and need to see the dentist right away. For cleanings and other routine procedures, we ask that you always call and make an appointment so that we know you are coming in.

If you have an emergency, call our office and explain you need to be seen right away. We will always make time for you.

This depends on the procedure you get done. We have full instructions on our website. Before you leave our office, our dental hygienists will also go over all the details you need to care for yourself.
